Higher education is a level of education after secondary education that includes diploma education programs, bachelor, master, specialist and doctoral degrees held by universities (Article 19 paragraph 1 of Act Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System). As the last level of the formal education pathway, higher education has an important role and responsibility to produce graduates who have high quality competencies and capabilities. On the shoulders of these graduates the task of advancing Indonesian state civilization is charged.

Mulawarman University Faculty of Law as one of the work units in Mulawarman University certainly has strategic roles and responsibilities in order to succeed national development in the education sector. Mulawarman University Faculty of Law, with its distinctive strength and character, must be able to face and answer the challenges of globalization of education that continues to grow rapidly both on a local, national and international scale. Mulawarman University Law Faculty must be able to become one of the flagship Faculties of Law which is a reference for the development and application of legal science in this country which is aimed at the benefit of society, increasing national competitiveness, and the strength of nationalism.
